Greetings Rotarians!

The new and improved version of our club newsletter is finally here!  This new format will allow us to always include all the information we need to share with the club--whether that be a little or a lot--and allow better interfacing with websites, when applicable.

There will be further enhancements to this format coming soon, so be on the watch!  As always, if you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to send them my way.

Metro Rotary Supports Learning Outdoors

 Board approves initial donation

The Metro Rotary Board approved on Monday an initial contribution of $2,000 to help fund the Outdoor Learning Center at Harwell Elementary School.  The four Rotary clubs in Lubbock are combining efforts to help get the project rolling and the money coming in.  The outdoor center will allow children in the community to have a place for hands on learning and fun.  Coordinators of the project expect the center to give access to hundreds each year.

Expect more exciting information about this project very soon!

Randy's Retirement

Randy Humphreys will retire from the financial services industry today.  He is retiring from American State Bank where he has served as a Financial Advisor in the bank's investment group--American State Financial Managment.  Randy plans to enjoy a good portion of his retirement traveling.

Congratulations, Randy, on this milestone in your life!

Metro's New Address

 Metro has presence on internet

Thanks to Brent Guinn and Craig Alley, Metro now has an impressive presence on the internet.  If you haven't already, take a few minutes to check out the site.  As John Nelson has already proved, the website can also be an effective recruiting tool!  The site contains a lot of infomation about who we are, what we do, and why we do it.

If you have any suggestions for additional content on the site, please share your thoughts with Brent Guinn.

FOUR WAY TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerened?
